About Me
CURT LOCKLEAR is a native Texan, an educator, history researcher, and entertaining presenter on everything about American history.
He is an AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR of seven novels and numerous short stories, and he has composed a good number of songs.
His father trained thoroughbred racehorses, and Curt got to clean the stalls and hotwalk the horses in cool-downs after their workouts. He even worked one summer in the paddock. His illustrious mother was a librarian.
He also plays banjo and guitar; and his banjo picking has been featured for years on the award-wining Texas travel show, “The Daytripper.” He’s even performed live on the Austin City Limits Stage.
He has presented on numerous history subjects, primarily about the Civil War, all across Texas, and in Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Maryland. He strives heroically to make sure his novels are historically accurate. He even walks the battlefields with historians to make sure he tells it right.
